A Laborer is an assignment mentioned in The Giver.

After three years of giving birth to three Newchildren, a Birthmother can become a Laborer, as well as a worker in the Fish Hatchery, or a Food Deliverer.
Not much is known about the assignment, but it's been hinted that it is a very hard-working job with little honor.
